Our support to Miguel Rosselló at Ironman Hawaii

Swimming has been his sporting pillar, the discipline that at the age of ten took him to national championships. A hard rhythm that has intensified over the years, with competitions and the balance between sport and education and then with work.

At the age of 27, Miguel decided to go one step further and seek to become an Ironman. You not only have to be a good swimmer, but also a good runner and a good cyclist. Six years later and with dozens of competitions under his belt, it is a pleasure for Alquilair to support Miguel Rosselló in his participation in the 41st edition of the Ironman Hawaii(Ironman World Championship), the oldest and most prestigious triathlon in the world.

"It's not an easy sport, it's very demanding, I train three or four hours a day in the afternoon, and in the morning I have my work."

Why do you like this sport?

"I like training, the feeling of pushing myself each time, overcoming new challenges. I didn't think I would like a triathlon so much but little by little I have been training and enjoying that feeling of overcoming and seeing the result of so much effort."

The Ironman is the most demanding triathlon event. It consists of 3.86 km of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42.2 km of running (marathon). It is a sporting event that is broadcasted in several countries around the world and this year it will be held in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. The winner is considered the Ironman of the year 2017, the Iron Man. Miguel is one of the 55 Spaniards who qualified to attend this world famous championship.Being a triathlete is a result of "training a lot, training at least six or seven months before for a championship like this. At least three hours a day. That means Miguel swims at least 10km every week, bikes about 200km, and runs another 45km.

An effort that develops as a team, as part of the Club Triatló Toni Colom World. This is not his first triathlon, but it is undoubtedly the most important of his career. "I participated in the Ironman of Nice (2013), in Frankfurt (2015 and 2016) and Austria (2017), where I got the qualification for Hawaii and it is certainly a great challenge. Preparing for an Ironman event is a huge challenge from day one, especially on a physical and mental level."

Miguel Rosselló, from Alquilair we say: You are an Ironman!
