The study "Tourist rental, a growing market" was recently published, a survey that asks about the image of tourist accommodation and reveals interesting data to know whether vacation rental is profitable or not. One of the conclusions is that holiday rentals are perceived as a profitable formula, with assured demand and high turnover. The 81% of the Spanish owners who offered their property to tourism in the last year, did so confident in its profitability and say they are satisfied.
Vacation rentals currently seem to be more profitable than traditional rentals, precisely because it is a type of rental that is on the rise. In the last three years, vacation rentals have grown by 74%. There are at least 1.7 million homes offered on the major platforms in all the country's communities, eight and a half million travelers residing in Spain chose this type of accommodation in the last two years.

Savings, accessibility, comfort, autonomy and privacy are some of the advantages of vacation rentals, but they are not the only ones. The market says that you earn by renting, and that you have high probabilities that these earnings will be higher if you lean towards vacation rentals, especially if you have a second home in the Balearic Islands, one of the most attractive communities for travelers who enjoy vacation rentals.According to Airbnb, in the Balearic Islands in 2016 more than 551 million euros were generated. A figure that increased by 92.8% over 2015. Currently 24,000 homes on the Islands are advertised on this platform, 70 % of them outside the most popular areas of traditional accommodation. In Mallorca 385,000 guests were accommodated, 90 % more than the previous year. In Palma 190,000 and in the rest of the island, another 195,000 guests. The average length of stays outside Palma was 6.6 nights per guest.
