My bookings tripled with Alquilair
Can Cap de Bou by Alquilair
Susan Hughes de Vila, 57 years old, for several decades managed the seasonal rental of her family farm. First the agritourism was rented to friends, then to friends' acquaintances and, when it was to be passed on to tourists, they did not arrive, something was not working because she did not manage to be seen and attract new people. It was not easy for her to grow, to manage her time, to know how to use the new technologies... The competition grew and more and more houses opened their doors to tourists, but they did not ring her doorbell.
Susan's first step was to become aware of the need to ask for help. Then Alquilair popped up on Facebook, she messaged and the result: "In the last year my bookings tripled with Alquilair".
Susan had gone through the whole process of managing her farm on her own, but also, that process had reached the end point: From 30 bookings a year, she is experiencing a summer where she is exceeding 100 bookings and is currently at 80% of her capacity.
Why does Alquilair work?
"People are happy with the information they receive. Everyone who arrives knows exactly what is there, which is very important, and the communication with the guests, from making the reservation, to answering any questions, they are satisfied with Alquilair's service. All the guests have told me that renting my house was quick and easy".
"I wasn't getting on well with mine (housing) and needed to try something new. At first it was rented to acquaintances but I didn't manage it well. I wasn't able to promote anything, with the internet I didn't know how to reach new people and grow. I was paying a lot of money to maintain the house and I wasn't getting there, I wasn't reaching new clients and I didn't know how to do it, and there was more and more supply."
Susan, owner of a 300 year old family-run agritourism in Mallorca, since 1988 she has been in charge of the operations that vacation rentals require. Now, with Alquilair, experts in the management of holiday homes, she has taken the time off her shoulders in terms of management, reservations, arrivals, departures, additional services, regulation. "They take care of everything and I have more time and security of management."
For more than a decade, the vacation rental market has been booming and online short-term rental companies have not stopped expanding. Vacation homes are on the rise and the number of users is growing. The National Institute of Statistics (INE) pointed out a couple of years ago that in Spain there were more than 120,000 holiday rental properties, around 23,000 families living directly from them and another 7,500 that are indirectly related to them.
The business models that have been implemented in the market vary from company to company. HomeAway, a leading company in the sector, is present in 190 countries and has more than 6.8 million registered overnight stays. The demand for vacation rentals increased by 18% between 2012 and 2013, and by 39% in 2015 compared to 2014. Every year some record is broken and with it the need to know how to deal with vacation home management. Are you like Susan and need help? Contact Alquilair!
